About Farm Animals Hub
Welcome to Farm Animals Hub, a friendly, practical resource for anyone who cares for animals on a farm, smallholding, or backyard homestead. Our mission is to share clear, trustworthy information about care, breeds, husbandry, and everyday farm life so that animals thrive and their keepers feel confident and responsible.

Whether you are just starting with your first chicken coop, expanding a small herd of goats, or refining your care routines after years on the land, Farm Animals Hub aims to be a helpful companion. We focus on humane, sustainable practices that prioritize animal welfare while recognizing the realities of modern small-scale farming.
Our mission
We believe good animal care begins with practical knowledge. Our goals are to:
- Provide accessible, evidence-informed guidance on daily care, housing, feeding, and health.
- Highlight breed characteristics and matching animals to your goals, climate, and resources.
- Share husbandry techniques that promote welfare, biosecurity, and sustainability.
- Create a welcoming space for questions, shared experience, and responsible learning.
About the author
Farm Animals Hub was founded and is written by Emma Clarke, a small-scale farmer and animal science graduate with over a decade of hands-on experience. Emma grew up on a mixed family farm, studied livestock management and animal welfare, and later worked as a farm assistant and education coordinator for agricultural outreach programs.
Her experience covers a wide range of species including chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, pigs, and a few backyard cattle. She has managed breeding programs, seasonal health plans, and built appropriate, low-cost housing designs. Emma writes with a practical focus: what works, why it matters, and how to adapt advice to different situations.
